Recreational horseback riding is welcome at China Ranch and on the surrounding public lands. We do not rent horses, but horse owners are welcome to trailer their animals to the ranch and park here while riding.
The most popular equestrian area is the trail into the spectacular Amargosa Canyon, where riders can follow in the footsteps of pioneers who followed the same route 180 years ago. Other trails of varying length and difficulty are also available depending upon the rider’s ability. Riders may wish to consult with the ranch staff before departing regarding the condition of specific trails. Large groups of riders should call ahead to be certain adequate parking is available.
